What it measures
These are China's monthly goods exports and imports, as year-on-year growth in US dollar terms, plus the monthly trade balance in billions of dollars.
Exports are the external-demand number. Imports mix domestic demand with commodity prices, so a strong import print is not automatically strong consumption.
The balance is exports minus imports for that month, converted from the source's thousand-dollar totals. It is not the year-to-date surplus.
Customs publishes this on its own schedule, which this calendar does not yet collect. The next release is shown as unknown. There is no product or partner split on this page.
