This is the onshore USD/CNY spot quote collected from Yahoo Finance, expressed as yuan per dollar.

It is a market rate, not the official central parity that the China Foreign Exchange Trade System fixes each morning, and the two differ.

A higher number is a weaker yuan. Weekend and holiday repeats are marked stale in the feed and are not treated as new observations.
