What it measures

The Loan Prime Rate is the benchmark Chinese banks quote for the best corporate borrowers. The 1-year rate anchors most corporate loans. The 5-year rate anchors mortgages.

The National Interbank Funding Center publishes it, and the PBOC's policy stance is what moves it. A cut is a policy decision, not a market print.

It is a step series. Months with the same number are months the rate was left unchanged, which is itself the observation.

The next fixing is usually the 20th, or the next business day. This page does not have a publisher calendar for that date, so the next release is shown as unknown.
